Public Affairs Director, Avolta
Pedro Castro, born in the Canary Islands, Spain, has been in Travel Retail since 1998 when he started as GM for ALDEASA in Chile. Managing different companies and regions across the world based in Spain, Jordan and Hong Kong for the following 25 years under World Duty Free, Dufry and now Avolta. In August 2023 he was appointed Global Director Public Affairs Avolta Group and joined the ETRC Board as VP External Affairs. In the past, he has been a board member of other regional industry associations: MEADFA and ASUTIL.
He has a degree in Political Science, specialising in Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, as well as a Master in International Studies from the Spanish Diplomatic School. Before entering the industry, he worked as a market analyst at the Foreign Trade Office of the Spanish Embassy in Chile. He is married and a member and unconditional fan of Atletico de Madrid.
